LIVE STREAMING VIDEO A REALITY FOR CELL PHONES?
You bet your ringtone it is!
Several companies are already deep into the depths of this technology and have contracted with significant back-end technology partners t
to make it happen sooner, rather than later. True, we already enjoy pre-programmed music, news, video and other sources of entertainment via our cell phone and mobile devices. However, live streaming video takes it one giant step farther. Imagine communicating to your banker, buying a book, playing interactive games with people from all around the world or making a stock trade...all from your cell phone, Blackberry or RIM device. Then imagine no more,
A query of SEC filings and web searches already indicate that this is about to become reality instead of distant technology. Microsoft, Nokia, Sony , VodaPhone, Telus and other conglomerates want this technology to be the best, so , don't expect run of the mill activity. These companies want to own the space, so being first to the market is key, but, providing an excellent product that needs little immediate platform upgrades will be vital to securing a key space. Some companies have found out the hard way that releasing new products simply to get it to market can be costly. Microsoft's recent dissapointment with PS3 is an example. While many think that live streaming video is already in place stay tuned or change the channel. We are all about to witness a revolution for the better. Wow, "Desperate Housewives" does look as good on my cell.
