So I've been hanging around waiting for Wager2Go to realunch their site. As Wager2Go continues to excel in providing the most comprehensive news and analysis as it pertains to the mobile gaming industry, they upgraded to a new data centre and some updated software.
We are excited about bringing you the latest mobile news with phones like Apple and Google and their seem to be some new players on the landscape. My buddy Benny has been playing with a few of these new toys and will hopefully give you a review if I can ever get him out of his mom's basement.
Keep us a "favorite" on your computer so that you may stay tuned into the most relavent and current information available. And if you see something that catches your eye, click on the link. Our job is to get you to the information your crave.
And don't be shy to throw those techie questions to our resident GEEK Benny. He's here to help. And being he still lives in his mothers basement and only comes out to obuy more duct tape (used to hold his glasses together), he has nothing but time on his hands. Well we hope it is only time on his hands.
We are also proud to offer commentary we will soon be offering in spanish as well, so that our Latin American friends can join in our discussions and become familiar with industry events. Look for the "As Manny See's It" column in a weekly commentary.

Bob Marley, I love you!!!!!!!!!! Summer time is back. I have been hiding out down south while Benny and the other sun-adverse geeks hid from the sun for the past few months.. We all know that i am not a snow bunny. But, FINALLY, i have been able to strip off those hip huggers and get back to my normal self! I will be updating you with my last 4 months of journal events and I am sure that you will be more "turned on' to mobile than ever before!!!
It's great to be back! Now, who remembers what I look like? Which one is me and which is just a close, close friend.

Hold’em, Fold’em, Hit, Stand – For crying out loud Jenny when will you realize there is more to life then games. We all know the center of the universe is technology. Allow me to enlighten these people who are tired of listening to someone whose VCR is still blinking 12:00. Now, iPhone versus Blackberry there is a debate with merit. There are a couple of ways to look at this. Let’s start with some fundamentals. Apple (of which I am a fan) gets a LOT of press. But a little known fact is Blackberry is the number 1, 3,and 4 most purchased device in the US, in Q1 of 2009. And the Blackberry Curve 8300 alone outsells all models of the Apple iPhone. So what is with all this noise? So how well does Apple and/or Blackberry fit the gaming sector? Let me throw out some facts and you can draw your own conclusion. Both product lines are predominantly purchased by men. Apple is a wireless bandwidth abuser, but in this day and age of “all you can eat” data plans that shouldn’t be a heavy influence. Most Apple users are between the ages of 25 to 35 and Blackberry tends to stretch from 25 to 50 and is the preferred choice of business people. Women lean more towards the Apple and I expect the male-female ratio will even out over time for the iPhone. Also as the prices drop that will contribute to equalizing the ratio as women tend to be more cost conscious (of course Jenny is in direct contrast to this tendency). Interesting? Maybe not… Apple controls the content on the iPhone. Apps must come from the App Store and Apple takes a piece of the pie (Apple Pie). Should they find an app not sanctioned by them they can remotely disable the app or the phone. So I think the big question is: Who cares? Until wagering is legal in North America, Apple will not sanction gaming related apps on their phone and once they do, how will Apple collect their piece of the pie? For sports or horses, the browser on either phone is a wonderful substitute although I still think a downloaded app is far superior to anything a browser can produce. But for gaming, for fun or for real, poker or casino – a downloaded app is necessary. So if we raise this debate above the noise you get a deafening silence. The point is moot until the North American gaming laws come more in line with Europe I don’t see Apple playing a role in gaming other then as a browser for sports and horses.come more in line with Europe I don’t see Apple playing a role in gaming other then as a browser for sports and horses.

Enough about sports already Jenny!! I personally need a little break after the beating I have been taking in the playoffs. What a great playoff series it’s been but not for my pockets. I’m a ”Math”lete not an Athlete, so lets get down to what really matters, the world of technology You all know about the iPhone and all the sweet applications that you can download on them, but did you know some might get you in a heap of trouble if used in a casino! Yes that’s right, they now have a card counting application for iPhone. Maybe that’s what I need to get my money back or I’m never going to be able to afford contacts, these glasses are never going to get me a girl.
But back to the point at hand, this cool new app! It was first brought to people’s attention by the California gaming authorities when they caught people using it in their casinos. Apparently it is quite accurate when at the black jack tables. Card counting itself is not illegal but using technology to help you is a Big No No. According to the State of Nevada if you are caught using this app you can (and will) be detained and possibly arrested! I don’t know about you but jail isn’t for me, even if I have trouble getting a date I still prefer the opposite sex . This program has four different strategies to help the player. It can also operate in what is know as a “stealth” mode which means the phones screen is shut off. So as long as the user knows where the keys are they are good to go. Slick!
Unfortunately with this application and possible other electronic devices, a lot of casinos are cracking down on cell phone uses in their casino. You can’t even use you cell phones at the World Series of Poker tournament! Good thing the only electronic device I need for cards is my iPod and the Frank Sinatra sound track . This new app would explain why Jenny seems to be doing so well at the tables lately, hmmm.

How can poker be legalized in the United States? Professor I. Nelson Rose argues that although passing legislation through a state Legislature is the cleaner way, litigation is the easier way.
